> Strategic Relationships
ProHealth Physicians is committed to enhancing our members’ practice experience, through physician ownership and leadership. Our strategic relationships serve to strengthen our capabilities and our influence wherever health care decisions are made. Member physicians benefit from the strategic relationships ProHealth has developed with key medical groups, hospitals, and others in the medical industry. These alliances continue to grow and change, to accommodate industry fluctuation. ProHealth Physicians is affiliated with several programs within the community that have expanded our services including:
University of Connecticut
The University of Connecticut School of Medicine has established ProHealth Physicians as its Division of Primary Care for Education and Research, within the Department of Community Medicine. As part of this program, medical students attend weekly sessions at ProHealth practice sites as part of the Student Continuity Program. ProHealth is the community-based educational arm of the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, training over 80 medical students annually. Medical students, through a unique, long-term relationship with a ProHealth physician, begin seeing patients during their first year of education.
Additionally, the university and ProHealth are collaborating in developing educational and community health research initiatives.
